It feels like only yesterday we opened our doors, but here we are, twelve years later.
In the world of tabletop gaming, the number twelve holds a special place in our hearts. It’s the number of sides on a D12, that chunky, often under-appreciated polyhedral that packs a wallop in a damage roll. It’s also the very die clutched in the green alien hand of our logo.
As we approach July 1st, we aren’t just celebrating a business anniversary; we’re celebrating a community that has grown, rolled crits, suffered "nat 1s," and built a second home within our walls. This is "The Road to D12," and we have a massive lineup of events to lead us into our thirteenth year of gaming.
A Dozen Years of Critical Hits
Twelve years is a long time in the hobby world. We’ve seen editions of Warhammer come and go, watched Pokemon and Flesh and Blood build passionate communities, and witnessed the massive explosion of Dungeons & Dragons into the mainstream. Through it all, Nerd Haven Games has stayed true to its mission: being a community-first space where the coffee is hot, the dice are unique, and everyone is welcome at the table.
Our D12 anniversary is a milestone that reflects the resilience and passion of our local players. Whether you’re a veteran painter who has been with us since day one or a new TCG collector who just discovered us last week, you are part of the "Nerd Haven" family. To say thank you, we’ve packed the end of June and the beginning of July with events that celebrate every corner of our hobby.
Free RPG Day: June 27th
Before we hit the big day on July 1st, we’re kicking things off with a worldwide celebration of roleplaying. Saturday, June 27th, is Free RPG Day, and Nerd Haven is proud to be a participating location.
RPGs are the soul of what we do. From the intricate storytelling of D&D to the cosmic horror of Arkham Horror, there is nothing quite like sitting around a table and creating a story with friends. This year, the swag is better than ever. We’ve got quickstarts and adventures for games like:

How do you get the loot?
It’s simple. You can score one piece of Free RPG Day swag by purchasing any RPG product in-store, think Dungeons & Dragons books or a fresh set of our unique RPG dice. Alternatively, if you participate in any of our in-store RPG events that day, you get a piece of swag for free, no purchase required! We want the dice hitting the table and the imagination flowing.
Goodbye 10th Edition: The Apocalypse Event (June 27th-28th)
While the RPG fans are busy questing, our Warhammer 40,000 community will be busy... well, purging. As we look toward the future of the 41st millennium, we’re saying a proper goodbye to the 10th Edition with a massive Apocalypse-style event running across the weekend of June 27th and 28th.
For the uninitiated, "Apocalypse" isn’t just a fancy name: it’s a format for the truly ambitious. We’re talking about massive tables, thousands of points per side, and the kind of legendary carnage that only happens when Titans and massive infantry wings collide.
We’ll be running a narrative "Exterminatus" scenario. The fate of a hive world hangs in the balance. Will the loyalists hold the line, or will the encroaching shadows of Chaos and Xenos tear it all down? This is the perfect time to bring out those "shelf queen" models: the ones that are too big for a standard skirmish but perfect for a world-ending conflict.
Remember, we are an official Black Library Stockist, so if you need some narrative inspiration before the event, come grab a copy of Astorath: Angel of Mercy or The Vulture Lord to get into the grimdark spirit.
The Big Day: July 1st Anniversary Sale
Everything leads to July 1st. This is our official 12th Anniversary, and we’re celebrating with a massive store-wide sale. Whether you’ve been eyeing a new Warhammer 40,000 Combat Patrol or you need to stock up on colour primers for your next project, this is the day to do it.
