The wait is finally over, Abbotsford! We know you’ve been checking the calendar and keeping a close eye on our socials. While the shadows of a delay loomed over our planned prerelease, the storm has finally broken. The clouds have cleared, and they’ve brought something spectacular with them: the Flesh and Blood: Omens of the Third Age release weekend is officially upon us!

We understand that delays can be a bit of a dampener, but we’re turning that wait into a weekend-long celebration. This isn’t just a regular release; it’s a full-throttle community event where the lightning strikes twice. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran of Rathe or a newcomer looking to pick up your first deck, there has never been a better time to "ride the lightning."
The Omens are Calling: A New Era of Flesh and Blood TCG
Flesh and Blood TCG has always been about the "hero vs. hero" experience, but Omens of the Third Age (the second part of the Rosetta cycle) takes that intensity to a whole new level. This set brings us back to the mystical realm of Aria, where the very fabric of nature is infused with elemental power. This time, the focus is squarely on the element of Lightning.
The flavour of this set is electric, literally. It’s fast, it’s reactive, and it rewards players who can think three steps ahead. In Aria, the third age is a time of prophecy and peril, and the three heroes featured in this set are the ones standing at the centre of the storm.
Meet the Lightning Legends
This set introduces (and re-introduces) three incredible heroes who each embody the Lightning talent in their own unique way. During this weekend's events, you’ll have the chance to draft or open these heroes in your sealed pools.
1. Aurora: The Runeblade Prodigy
Aurora is all about speed and synergy. As a Lightning Runeblade, she excels at weaving together physical attacks and arcane damage. If you enjoy playing cards that "go again" and building up a massive chain of attacks that leave your opponent reeling, Aurora is your go-to. Her ability to generate Embodiment of Lightning tokens ensures that your next attack is always faster than the last.
2. Oscillo: The Wizard of the Storm
If you prefer to play the game on your opponent’s turn as much as your own, Oscillo is a dream come true. As a Lightning Wizard, Oscillo specializes in "Instant" speed interaction. Using the new Starfall mechanic, Oscillo can punish opponents for every move they make, turning their own aggression against them with bursts of arcane energy.
3. Zyggy Starlight: The Illusionist Visionary
Zyggy brings a more tactical, cerebral approach to the Lightning talent. As an Illusionist, Zyggy creates dazzling displays of power that are as fragile as they are deadly. Managing your board state and choosing the right moment to strike is key with Zyggy. She turns the chaotic energy of the storm into focused, powerful illusions that can overwhelm any defence.
Mastering the Mechanics: Lightning Flow and Starfall
What makes Omens of the Third Age truly stand out are the new mechanics that define how these heroes play. If you’re coming down to the shop this weekend, here’s a quick primer on what to look for in your packs:
- Lightning Flow Tokens: These are the lifeblood of the set. Many cards and weapons in this set allow you to create Lightning Flow tokens. These tokens can be saved and spent on later turns to fuel massive power spikes. It’s all about banking your energy for the perfect moment to strike.
- Starfall: This is a new keyword that rewards you for playing "Instants." If an instant card has been put into your graveyard during the turn, your cards with Starfall gain extra abilities: often creating those crucial Lightning Flow tokens or dealing additional damage.
- Embodiment of Lightning: A returning favourite, these tokens give your next attack "Go Again." In a set this fast, "Go Again" is the difference between a good turn and a game-winning turn.
- Ward: Protection is vital when the lightning is flying. The Ward mechanic allows you to sacrifice auras or equipment to prevent damage, giving you that extra bit of survivability needed to set up your own big plays.

This Weekend's Schedule: Ride the Lightning
Since we had to pivot from our prerelease, we’re making this release weekend bigger than ever. We have plenty of Omens of the Third Age Booster Boxes in stock and ready for you to take home, but the real fun happens in-store.
Event Format: Sealed Deck
Each player will receive 8 booster packs of Omens of the Third Age to build a minimum 30-card deck. It’s a level playing field where your deck-building skills and tactical prowess are what matter most.
- Saturday, June 6th: The main event kicks off at 5:00 PM. We'll be running Swiss rounds with awesome prize support, including exclusive promo cards.
Don't forget to grab your tickets early on our events page to secure your spot! Even if the link says "Armory," we'll be using the slots for our big release celebration on Saturday.
